Capirossi remains with Suzuki
Capirossi will commit to a one-year extension to his Suzuki contract over the Indianapolis MotoGP this week. The knowledgable
Italian united with Suzuki at the beginning of the 2008 year and has turned out to be an extremely respected and influential
stature within the Hamamatsu factory's competition.
The confirmation with Capirossi concludes Suzuki's
MotoGP competitor line up for next year, after the current announcement that 24-year-old Spanish hero Alvaro Bautista will
also unite with Suzuki for the following two years.
Loris Capirossi comments, "I am very happy to continue
working with Suzuki and everyone involved with the Racing Group and the team. I love working with my crew and feel really
at home here. When I joined Suzuki I really wanted to win races and this is still the target. I love the competition and the
challenge and my ambition to succeed is as strong as ever. We are 100% focused on developing the GSV-R into a race-winning
machine and the improvements that have come through recently show that Suzuki is working in the right direction. I am pleased
to have signed again at this time of the season as it gives me a great motivation for the rest of the year and an incentive
to get the bike ready for 2010."
Paul Denning - Team Manager, says, "Loris brings so much character,
bravery and experience to Suzuki, and his technical input is invaluable. He still has an enormous drive and determination
to succeed - we now have to react to his requests and give him the tools to be as competitive as possible. We hope that Loris,
with the youthful exuberance of Alvaro alongside him next season, will be a good partnership. Loris is a great team-mate but
certainly won't want to be beaten by the younger guy so I am sure he will be fighting hard!
"This announcement
confirms that Suzuki and Chris Vermeulen will not be working together in 2010. On behalf of Suzuki Motor Corporation and the
whole team, including title sponsor Rizla, I want to wish Chris the best of luck in his future career. He has been a great
asset to us and a true professional at all times - even when things have not quite gone to plan.

Andrea Dovizioso returns to form
MotoGP’s ‘Mr Consistency’ up to a recent up and down form, Andrea Dovizioso has come back to form in a fourth
placing at the Czech Republic in the final round, after claiming three consecutive DNFs ensued by his sole ever race victory
in the last four events.
The Italian is confident in making a massive performance this weekend at Indianapolis,
where he headed the initial two laps of last season’s race whilst competing for the Scot Racing staff, ending fifth
as the weather conditions quickly deteriorated.
Following his amazing Donington victory and antoher minor stage
miss at Brno, a sturdy result for Dovizioso this weekend would allow him an advantage of moving forward of Colin Edwards and
slot into fifth place in the rankings.
Dovizioso was definately unlucky at the last round as he placed the Czech
event just under a second following third placed Toni Elías, however the Honda man can chase down Edwards in the rankings
to allow his year to be rosier, with the Texan only five points in ahead of him.
Commenting on the preview to the
Indy weekend, Dovizioso says, “This is the second time that we race at Indianapolis and I have to say that last year
I immediately found a good feeling with this new track. It’s a typical American venue with great facilities and huge
grandstands so the experience of riding there is special.”
“I was fourth in the last race at Brno but
that was actually a little disappointing because I was so close to the podium again, so I’m looking forward to getting
back on track and putting that right. It won’t be easy, especially during the first practice session because it’s
a different type of circuit and it’s not so easy to dial into the layout at the beginning.

Capirossi confidence
Marked by a sturdy result at Brno in round 11, including a consistent test on the Monday following the event at the Czech
Republic, Loris Capirossi is hoping to keep the positive energy this weekend at Indianapolis.
Capirossi and his
Rizla Suzuki colleague Chris Vermeulen, were able to receive chassis and motor upgrades to their GSV-R engines for the Czech
event and will look to up the ante at The Brickyard, as they concentrate on improving their current positions at the bottom
level of the top ten.
Last year in the maiden MotoGP at Indianapolis, Capirossi was classed with a 16th placing
when the weather issues ended the event, he will now be striving for an excellent result this time around as he prepares to
go forward on his fifth placing end at Brno.
On the preparation for the Indy weekend Capirossi says, “I didn't
really get on the pace there last year, so I was very disappointed about that and I will be looking to put that right this
year. We had an encouraging performance at Brno and also discovered a few things during the test on the Monday that will improve
things for the rest of the season. I am going to America in a very positive frame of mind and am determined to fight for everything
we can for the rest of the year.”
Meanwhile Vermeulen is also positive that he is able to move forward since
Brno where he placed 11th, as he strives for a main ending to the year for the last six events.
The Australian
competitor states, “I’m looking forward to going to Indianapolis, as it is such an amazing venue and a really
well organised event. We didn’t really get the best result last year as the race was hit by a hurricane and had to be
stopped early, so I hope the weather is a lot better this year. We made a big step with bike at Brno in the last GP and although
the result wasn’t what we wanted, we certainly have a clear indication of how the new engine will work in the remaining
races.

Kevin Schwantz ride
Kevin Schwantz is due to ride the Suzuki RGV500 that claimed his victory in the 1993 MotoGP World Championship, at this
week’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Schwantz will travel on the re-established
bike for demo laps of the 2.621-mile road circuit at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 2.15pm this Sunday (30th August), 45 minutes
before the beginning of the MotoGP event.
Schwantz who originates from Houston has claimed 25 wins over his Grand
Prix career. This will be the sole moment that he has ridden this motorcycle since he
retired in1995.
“We fired it up one weekend, I think, late in the year in 1995,” Schwantz states. “I’m
looking forward to it. I’ve sat on it a couple of times. We've got some new Michelin tires for it. I'm not going
to try and throw down a qualifying lap, that's for sure, but I'm really looking forward to riding it. Hearing that
V4 two-stroke running around out here is going to be special.”
A demo of a fresh Moto2 session motorbike
will also occur on Saturday, from 4pm-4.40pm.

Balazs Nemeth comeback
Further to his comeback at Donington Park prior to the summer break and an injury occuring in testing after only two Grand
Prix showings this season, Balázs Németh gained his initial career points at the Cardion ab Czech Republic Grand
Prix, where he commenced on the grid at 18th place.
Though 14th place will surely just be a stepping stone for
the Hungarian competitor, the points were gratefully accepted by Németh and the Balatonring staff as they were gained
ahead of a massive following of spectators from Hungary at Brno.
Németh stated, “I am delighted with
the result, and to finally have some World Championship points. The start was better than any that I’ve done before;
not losing a single position was a very positive point. I started overtaking other riders and on the second lap I was already
15th. I saw that there wasn't much space between myself and the rider ahead of me, so I pushed to catch him.”
“I felt very comfortable on the Aprilia and lap by lap was able to reduce my times, thinking about taking points
for the first time. The bike worked fantastically well during the race, thanks to the work that my mechanics had performed
throughout the whole weekend.

Bautista on Suzuki
Suzuki Motor Corporation’s confirmation on Sunday evening at the finish of the Brno weekend announching they have contracted
Álvaro Bautista for next season, completed a long line of rumours regarding the Spanish competitors’s future.
Due to his premier profile, Bautista had many opportunities to move forward in his career, with most expecting him
to remain with Aspar, however the previous 125cc World Champion has now chosen to move with a more secure structure with Rizla
Suzuki.
He commented, “There were a lot of rumours about my future for a long time and in the end there were
two clear options, Aspar and Suzuki. Obviously I wanted some of the details of the Aspar MotoGP project to be finalised before
making my decision because I’m very happy with the team in 250cc. So between Donington (when Aspar confirmed their Ducati
MotoGP deal) and Brno I was able to fully weigh up the pros and cons. It was a really difficult decision but going to Suzuki
means I am with a factory team and from a sporting perspective that is what I wanted, so that was my choice.”
“In terms of my expectations for next year, I’m still not sure yet as I am still focusing on 250cc. I know that
everything will be new and I will be working with people I don’t know, the majority of them being English. I come from
a mainly Spanish and Italian team so that will be a big change and then of course the bike will be totally different. We will
have to work very hard in the pre-season to adapt. If (Loris) Capirossi is my team-mate I think that would be a big bonus
for me, as he is Italian, with a similar personality to me, a very nice guy with so much experience and someone to learn a
lot from.”
When prompted on the thoughts of his now Aspar staff follwing the decision to move with Suzuki,
Bautista says, “Well I think they understand it but they don’t agree with it. Jorge (Martínez) wanted me
to be his MotoGP rider and after four years together in 125cc and 250cc it is a shame not to be going into MotoGP together
from a professional perspective, but I have made a choice which I believe is correct for me. Jorge is a great person and the
whole team are extremely focused, they respect my decision.”
“As Jorge told me, ‘that’s
what will happen next year, but we still have a lot of work to do this year!’,” stated Bautista.
With
the Suzuki comments on bringing in Bautista, team manager Paul Denning explains, “We are very happy to have signed
Álvaro Bautista for next season and we’re excited about the plans

Hector Barbera with Aspar
After long periods of speculation, it has been announced that Héctor Barberá will now compete for the novel
Aspar squad on Ducati engines in the premier class next year.
Now competing
on an Aprilia in the 250cc World Championship for the Pepe World Team, Barberá places fourth in the rankings with one
win this year and two extra stage performances to his name. He will regroup with the Aspar structure for which he competed
in the 125cc sessions in 2002 and 2003.
Staff manager Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’, stated: “This
is excellent news for us, to be reunited with Héctor Barberá after so many years. We won the Spanish championship
together and Grands Prix in 125cc and I’m sure this will be another great project. We hope for good results next year
and we want this to be a long term agreement. Hopefully Héctor can earn factory machinery with his results.

Mattia Pasini's with Pramac
Even though he was thought to make his MotoGP beginning at Indianapolis on the extraPramac Racing Desmosedici after the information
that he would test ride for the higher class in Brno on Monday, Mattia Pasini has chosen to centre himself on the 250cc event
until the end of the season.
Rumours were surrounded that Pasini could compete for Pramac at Indianapolis and Misano
due to Casey Stoner still in ill health, and Mika Kallio substituting for the Aussie, along with Michel Fabrizio presenting
a once off showing for the Ducati staff in the Czech Republic.
However, Pramac will need to locate another competitor
for the upcoming two events, even though Pasini’s first showing on the MotoGP engine, after the competitor, Pramac Racing
manager Paolo Campinoti and Pasini’s existing 250cc colleague Team Toth, together confirmed it was more productive for
him to centre on his current rivals in the quarter litre session.
Campinoti stated, “We all know how hard
it is to jump on a MotoGP bike and get used to it. Our sincere compliments go to Mattia as he is a guy who never gives up,
is tenacious and fully deserved this opportunity, even if we are sorry that he will not be able to ride with us in the next
couple of races.”
Pasini comments, “It was a sensational feeling to go so fast. I went from doing 255km/h
on my 250cc bike on Sunday, to over 300 km/h on the Ducati. It is a really spectacular bike to ride, with such incredible
power.

Mattia Pasini debut
Italian 250cc competitor Mattia Pasini has been given a huge asset by Pramac Racing on Monday in the Czech Republic,
as he received his first ever opportunity to ride a MotoGP engine.
Pasini claimed
a pleasing 3.5 seconds from Jorge Lorenzo’s best lap of the day which put him only sixth tenths behind the slowest competitor
Gabor Talmacsi.
He explains, “I am happy with what I could do. Obviously I’m not going to be setting
pole position times as I’m just starting. The hardest thing at the moment is braking. The riding position is also totally
different to being on a 250cc bike, but the team had already prepared the machine on Sunday night to suit my body shape.”

Apologies from Lorenzo
Trying to keep the pressure on Valentino Rossi at the top of the ranks in the Czech Republic, Jorge Lorenzo established the
Italian hero as being in remarkable form during the event, it was the fresh Spanish competitor who erred first as he lowsided
at the third turn with only five laps left.
Having two DNFs in two events for Lorenzo have made him drop 50 points
of his challenging team mate in the standings, following an interesting battle this season and the emotions could be the difference
in yet another Rossi success at Brno.
Lorenzo explains, “I got a bad start and had to get by some people,
and then I just didn’t have the same pace that I’d had all weekend. I was slower than in the practices and it
really wasn’t what I was expecting. Unfortunately for me Valentino was just as strong as he’d been all weekend
and I had to push very, very hard to stay with him. Towards the end I began to close the gap and after I passed him I was
doing everything to stay in front, but then I made a mistake and crashed.”
He then comments, “There’s
nothing more I can say except that I’m so sorry to the team and to Yamaha and I will do everything I can to make it
up in America.”
Daniele Romagnoli, Lorenzo’s Team Boss added his view by stating, “It will be
another important lesson for Jorge and we are confident that he will learn from it continue to be just as fast and to keep
improving.

De Puniet ready despite injury
Following great form in the first half of the MotoGP year, confirmed by an excellent stage finish at Donington Park, Randy
de Puniet will be ready to go for the preparation at the Cardion AB Czech Republic Grand Prix, even though he endured an ankle
injury on the weekend following the event in the UK.
The Frenchman was in training to keep his fitness levels up
in France over the short break when he claimed a smash which fractured his left ankle, however a short surgical procedure
and some tough rehabilitation has seen him recover quite quickly. The satellite Honda rider will now be prepared to compete
again at Brno on Friday, much to the joy of his staff and fans.
Explaining on the occurrence prior to round eleven
De Puniet says, “Immediately after the surgery I was unsure about things and thought I would have not been able to race
in Brno. But thanks to the rehabilitation programme my ankle is improving day by day. I can easily move it and I will be fit
for the race.

Choice of tyres affected
Boasting victories at Brno for the previous three years and supplying the wheels for the highest eight places the prior year
in the Czech Republic, Bridgestone have a fantastic bloodline at the event for this week’s round eleven action.
The Czech track is rolling but overally reasonably balanced, with eight right and six left hand turns. It was resurfaced
last year and has now achieved a more abrasive surface, hence Bridgestone’s choice to go with firm and extra solid compound
front slicks. Due to the circuit's flowing way, the medium and solid compound rear Bridgestone slicks have been chosen.
Hiroshi Yamada, Bridgestone’s Motorcycle Sport Unit Manager, reveiewed the event by stating, “I think
we are all looking forward to going racing again after the much deserved summer break, and Brno has traditionally been a good
circuit for Bridgestone as we have been very successful there in recent years, with three consecutive wins.”
He continues, “We have seen some fantastic races so far this season in the single tyre era, and the championship is
still close at the front so I’m sure we’ll continue to see more nail-biting
competition.”
Bridgestone’s Motorcycle Race Tyre Development Boss Tohru Ubukata explained, “Brno
has a long lap but an even balance of left and right handed corners so we will bring symmetric compound tyres again. Since
it was resurfaced in 2008 Brno has become a more abrasive circuit, so we will bring harder front tyres this season to cope
with the loads generated through the fast and flowing corners.”
“The circuit is characterised by its
undulating nature and flowing corners that require a great deal of finesse from the riders. This also places a premium on
bike setup so that each rider package can use our tyres to the optimum.

Rossi and Lorenzo duel
Fiat Yamaha duo Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo will arrive in the Czech Republic for the next round of the 2009 MotoGP
session this weekend, competing highly at the top of the ranks, even with a disappointing final event in the UK.
The extremely talented twosome place first and second in the overall classification with seven rounds left, Rossi is heading
the table by 25 points, with an interesting run-in to the final of the season in waiting.
Brno is a very special circuit for Rossi as he claimed the very first of his 101 career wins there, in the 125cc session
in 1996. The 30 year-old has a proven record there, having since claimed a 250cc win and four MotoGP victories to his scorecard,
including the previous year which enables him to be on the way to his eighth World title.
Rossi smashed out of
the competition lead in Donington the previous time out, but regrouped to place fifth, extending his current lead at the top
of the standings. Commenting on the preview visit to Brno the Italian champion stated, “The summer holiday wasn’t
as long as usual but anyway I’ve had the chance to recharge the batteries in the break and I’m feeling rested
and relaxed. Last time out wasn’t ideal but in the end it was a positive day for us and we now have a one-race buffer
at the top of the championship.”
“Despite this breathing space we can’t afford to relax for a
minute because our rivals are very strong and I expect everyone to be at their best in Brno. It’s a great track for
me and I took my first ever win there; I’m hoping for another good result this time.”
Also with an
impressive track record in the Czech Repulic, his colleague, 22-year-old Lorenzo has been victorious there once in 125cc class
and twice in 250cc class, both times from the pole position.
“I’m really excited about this race after
what feels like a long time without one,” Lorenzo said. “It was good to have a bit of a break and I used the time
to work on my fitness and to completely recover from the injuries I had after Laguna, in the gym and with my physiotherapist.

Action returns to Brno
The 2009 MotoGP World Championship begins again at Brno in the Czech Republic this weekend, since a minimal break and a historic
final visit to Donington Park which allowed champion Valentino Rossi to increases his performance at the top of the ratings,
in some lucky circumstances.
Even though Rossi endured his second poor result of the year recently at Donington,
passing the finish line in fifth spot having smashed out of the lead, the unlucky events have played his main rivals into
his hands as the champion Italian increased into a 25 point advantage in the title event.
On track for his sixth
first class crown, Rossi was a winner at Brno last season, in addition to the circuits for the two events which follow round
eleven, Indianapolis and Misano, he will be looking to damage his opponents as the season heats up. Brno was also the circuit
for Rossi’s first ever win back in 1996 in the 125cc session and he claims four first class Czech victories in total
going back to 2001.
Following Rossi in the MotoGP class is his gifted young Fiat Yamaha colleague Jorge Lorenzo
who went into the break battered and bruised after claiming injuries at Laguna Seca in July, then suffering his second DNF
of the season in Great Britain. The Spanish star was 10th in his initial Czech MotoGP event in a very tough race for the competitors,
but has a sturdy Brno track record having been victorious there in both the 250cc and 125cc events.
Ducati will
wish that Casey Stoner has progressed during the break in his recovery from gastritis and anaemia symptoms, which have dampered
him for quite a few weeks, as he has lost pace at the front on Rossi and now sits behind the leader by 37 points in third
place. Donington was a nightmare for Stoner and his colleague Nicky Hayden (13th in the ranks) as they wagered on slippery
tyres on the wet-drying circuit and both ended outside the top ten.
After his brilliant victory at Laguna and a
stage finish at Sachsenring, Dani Pedrosa’s up and down form surfaced again at Donington, as the Repsol Honda competitor
struggled in the wet conditions and only managed a ninth placing, quickly crushing his hopes of a comeback. The Spaniard is
placing fourth in the ranks currently, two places in front of colleague Andrea Dovizioso who will be extremely keen about
returning to the action after his amazing maiden MotoGP victory at Donington.
The same applies for fifth placed
Monster Yamaha Tech 3 competitor Colin Edwards, who made an identical result in second place in England, in front of Randy
de Puniet on the Donington circuit.
De Puniet places eighth overall in the general rank, just away from Hayate
Racing’s Marco Melandri, however the Honda man’s great 2009 results could have an affect since a training mishap
on the weekend after the British Grand Prix, which left him with a broken ankle. The Frenchman is due to race at Brno but
probably will not be as fit and prepared as he would like.

Superbike Heartland Park Results 2009
Larry Pegram was in control at Heartland Park Topeka, taking his initial career weekend sweep in AMA Pro Racing.
Beginning from the pole for the only time from 1996, the Foremost Pegram Ducati competitor headed every lap in both races.
Pegram rode to a quick lead in Race One and was rarely challenged, victorious by more than two seconds in front of
Yamaha’s Ben Bostrom.
“For me, it’s just validation,”
states Pegram. “Here we beat everybody again, and I proved to myself I can win at this level because I had lost a lot
of confidence over the years riding bikes that weren’t capable of winning. You start to wonder if it might be you, but
I always knew at the bottom of my heart that I could win races, especially if I got on a great motorcycle like this Ducati
1098R.”
Bostrom held off a mixture of riders including Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Blake Young and Tommy
Hayden and Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates to the place in the line for second.
“It’s a great track,
and there are passing spots here believe it or not,” explains Bostrom. “The bike was fantastic, and the R1 did
a good job. The rider just kind of sat on it and rode, and I was hoping to obviously race for the win. I did think I could
catch Larry. Blake and I had a bit of a battle going, and Larry jumped out there and put in really, really fantastic laps.”
Race Two endured a harder challenge for Pegram. He was pushed through the whole race by Hayden but was still able
to finish over the line at 0.333 seconds in front of the Suzuki.
“I was sweating and Tommy was all over me,
he was an animal,” states Pegram. “I could hear him back there, I could feel him. The last three laps I was riding
fairly defensive. I was still trying to set a good pace but in the places where I knew there were opportunities to pass, I
wasn't giving any room there. My hats off to him, I rode as hard as I possibly could and he was there the whole race.”
Hayden’s second placing was his eighth of the year. Although he places second in the championship standings,
Hayden has yet been able to take a win this season.
“I was a lot stronger than Larry through two of the corners,”
comments Hayden. “I didn’t want to try a move until I thought I was close enough to make it. I tried the one spot
and he got back by and I never really got close enough again through that area. He picked it up a bit there. It’s kind
of frustrating to keep getting this close and not get a win, but I feel like I’m learning a lot in the races. I have
to keep doing what I’m doing, it can’t be too far away.”
Yamaha’s Josh Hayes, who collects
three wins himself, placed close to six seconds behind Hayden for his third stage result in four events.
The weekend’s
events created an unforeseen shadow over the safety concerns of the course. Heartland Park Topeka team worked continually
on improving the track up until qualifying day of July 31. The largest modification was the removal of a wall close to Turn
One.
Series champion Mat Mladin did not partake in either event due to safety issues associated. Although he was
absent, Mladin still maintains an easy 83-point lead in the standings with four races
left.

Thunderbird lacking according to Harley riders
The all fresh Triumph Thunderbird cruiser is a gem but detains character, according to Harley-Davidson fans.
In
a national first, result were pitched at its closest Harley opponent, the 1584cc Dyna Super Glide Custom, and then two
Hog possessors commented on their thoughts of the sophisticated British bike.
Both
Harley possessors stated the Thunderbird was an excellent motorcycle, and incorporated an improved build, tour quality and
more desirable than Japanese manufactured Harley imitations.
However both fans of Milwaukee metal, also stated
the Triumph reduced in character of their own bikes, although they agreed the Thunderbird
handled better. Malcolm Pritchard explains, "The Thunderbird is a very good bike. Obvious Harley influences
abound, such as the switchgear, rear chrome side rail and fuel tank readout, but it's not the clone the Japanese produce.
"It's a bit too smooth for me the engine isn¹t vibey enough
and feels like it doesn¹t have the torque of the Glide.
"But Harley could learn a thing or two from the
Triumph's brakes. It beats the clones and will challenge Harley, especially the Glide." Robert Lye
comments, "Initially, I thought the Thunderbird was a bit bland. Sometimes it feels more like
a smooth four-cylinder than a big twin.
"Everything fits and works and you don¹t have to
think about riding it. But top gear doesn't seem to have as much drive from low revs
as the Harley.
"But after a while I did like the Thunderbird. It felt right. It was confidence inspiring (borne
out by my peg-scraping antics) and looks OK apart from points like the radiator and unusual rear right-hand engine cover.
"If I was looking for a custom-themed bike from scratch, it would most certainly
be a contender.

Blake Williams gold medal
Aussie freestyle motocross champion Blake “Bilko” Williams has shocked a gathering of stars to claim the gold
medal in the freestyle event of the X Games at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles recently, (yes the same venue where Michael
Jackson was preparing for his comeback tour beginning in London).
After three attempts in the invitation-only session,
Bilko acclaimed a 1pt win in the freestyle finale from Jeremy Stenberg, trailed by Nate Adams and Mat Rebeaud. There were
no other Aussies in the outcome.
Competitors were able to drop their worst run, which was accidental for Williams
as he gave his second jump.
His win confirms the first time an international
competitor has claimed a gold medal in the freestyle event in the X Games.
"After
being robbed of gold in the best trick event last night (where he finished second), it really lit a fire under my belly to
settle for nothing less than gold tonight,” stated Williams. “I am stoked, tonight was the one that counted and
it was an amazing feeling to get the win in front of my mum and dad who flew over for the event.
“It has
been a long couple of weeks and to be honest I actually didn’t have the preparation
I would have liked.
“I want to dedicate the medal to the late Jeremy Lusk and Bronte
Holland and also my mate Cam Sinclair who I should have been competing against tonight.”
Sinclair
arrived from Baxter in country Victoria. The next session on Bilko’s itinerary is the Wendy’s Invitational at
Portland, the initial of three freestyle motocross events on this years tour.

Triathlon includes Button and Smith
The nation’s biggest triathlon occurred in London last weekend, with F1 chamption Jenson Button and 125cc world
competitor Bradley Smith both adding in some electrifying performances.
Button
was the star, he not only lead the F1 title from Aussie’s Mark Webber, but he’s also snapped up lingerie beauty
Jessica Michibata as a girlfriend, now he is due to set a personal record in the London Triathlon.
Completing the
total Olympic distance (1500m swim, 40km bike and 19km run), Button created an excellent time of 2:07:02 to place second in
the men’s division of 25-29 years, and was only 20 minutes off the victorious time placed in the premier division.
Aussie’s Courtney Atkinson placed second in the highest field, creating
a time of 1:44.48.
Smith who is currently placing third in the world 125cc
event, recorded a time of 2:13:36.
The circuit spanned some of the city’s most acclaimed
landmarks including the London Eye, Big Ben and Tower Bridge.

Superbikes join V8 Supercars
For the sole moment in the history of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, Australia’s high class motorcycle event
will race on the undercard during the L&H 500 at the top class Phillip Island Circuit.
Australia’s most prominent superbike competitors will join the V8 Supercars at the circuit from September 11-13
with the Australian Superbike Open to include two 10-lap events on Saturday and Sunday.
As Phillip Island is one
of the small number of Australian circuits that are able to feature world class touring cars and national class two wheel
racing, the exciting mixture of the nation’s top classes of motor racing will give all motor sport spectators a wonderful
event to see.
Also it has been revealed that camping facilities would be available for the initial time at a V8
Supercar circuit at Phillip Island to ensure spectators both sports to continue on site. Camping is a historic tradition at
Phillip Island for the bike events when thousands come around for the races.
Australian Superbike Champion Glenn
Allerton and second-place Josh Waters gave an exhibition lap at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge recently as an extra to the
announcement of the partnership.
“It’s been an idea that we have been working on for many years,”
V8 Supercar Chief Operating Officer Shane Howard stated of the unique dual format. “In the past the calendars haven’t
matched up which has made it very difficult but now, in 2009, we have the opportunity to host the Superbikes and the Australian
stars of the sport.”
Mr Howard explained the format would be done this season with an opportunity to continue
next year.
