2009. A majority of interest is expected and potential submissions for selection can now apply online at www.redbullrookiescup.com.
Following the past three seasons of the Cup, the course of competition has increased well and the selection procedure
has been tightened this season with applications arriving in from teenagers with high performance motorbike experience. Applicants
will require proof of racing success on their submissions, however this not limited to street racers as motocrossers, dirt
trackers, speedway and other speed-sport challengers are welcome.
The most aspiring applicants will be invited
to join a single selection occasion in Europe on the 5th October this year. From that event of testing, a minority number
will be able to join the Rookies Cup for next year.
While the top list of this year’s Rookies, the likes
of Jakub Kornfeil and Sturla Fagerhaug, seem set to continue their careers next season in the 125cc World Championship, many
others will stay in the Cup for another yearn until the most promising selection can make their step up to Grand Prix competition.
The calendar for the 2010 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is yet to be confirmed, however it will be run alongside the
majority of European Grands Prix and is headed to begin next year in Jerez at the Spanish Grand Prix.
