Interesting numbers for the Red Bull Grand Prix

Statisticians have been at it again leading into the Red Bull Grand Prix at Laguna Seca this weekend.
 
The number 3, Laguna Seca is just one of three current race circuits where Valentino Rossi has not started from pole in the premier-class, they other two are Misano and Sachsenring.
 
The number 6, After the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen there are still six riders who have scored points at all seven MotoGP races held so far in 2009 season, they are Casey Stoner, Randy de Puniet, Colin Edwards, Chris Vermeulen, Marco Melandri and Alex de Angelis.
 
The number 19, After Valentino Rossi’s historic victory at the Alice TT Assen, it was the 19th victory for Yamaha since the 800cc limit was introduced at the start of 2007 MotoGP season, this is the same number of victories achieved by Ducati during the same period, whilst other teams like Honda has had four victories in this period and Suzuki one.
 
The number 27, The Qualifying day at Laguna Seca will be the 27th anniversary of the first Grand Prix victory by rider Freddie Spencer on 4th July 1982 at the Belgium GP at Spa-Francorchamps 27 years later.
 
The number 45, Race day at Laguna Seca will also be the 45th anniversary of Mike Duff’s famous victory in the 250cc class at the Belgium Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in 1964, it was the first ever GP victory by a Canadian rider. Mike Duff had two more victories in his GP career and is still the only Canadian rider to win a Grand Prix 45 years later.
 
The number 49, After the  Alice TT Assen there have been 49 MotoGP races without a winner from the USA, Since the Kentucky Kid Nicky Hayden won at Laguna Seca three years ago.
 
The number 50, Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo’s 2nd place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen was the 50th time he has stood on a Grand Prix podium. This now makes him the 32nd rider to reach the milestone of 50 Grand Prix podiums.
 
The number 99, This marks Colin Edwards’ 4th place finish at the Alice TT Assen was the 99th time he has finished in the points in his MotoGP career. The next time he finishes in the top fifteen he will become the 14th rider in the 61 year history of Grand Prix racing to reach the milestone of 100 point scoring finishes in the premier-class which is a outstanding achievement for such a gifted rider.
